2010 was the year that saw Daniel hit our TV screens. His BBC3 pilot – “The Adventures of Daniel” – transmitted on in August 2010, his debut on Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow aired in September. In October 2010 we saw him simultaneously on the BBC’s Rob Brydon Show and 8 out of 10 cats on Channel 4. Since then he has rocked on Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford and supported David Walliams’ record breaking 24 hour panel show marathon for Comic Relief by lending a hand on the Mock the Week show. Clips of Daniel’s TV appearances can be viewed on the video pages and on the Youtube GetSlossed channel.
I can’t believe it – BBC3 are letting me work with two of the funniest guys in the business, Tim Allsop and Stewart Williams (who wrote Plus One), to make my own pilot: “The Adventures of Daniel“! Totally unbelievably awesome! It’s going to be a mix of my stand-up material and some sketches intermingled with a plotline based very loosely on my life, my family and my girlfriend. This basically means I get to create a show in which I tell the world just how weird and annoying all these people actually are … and pretend it’s all fiction. It’s genius!
And now to answer all the questions you are all desperate to ask: –
When is it on telly?
I have no idea
Who else is in it?
I have no idea
Will it be funnier than “The Big Top”?
Oh come on! Stubbing your toe is funnier than The Big Top.
Will your mum be played by Susan Boyle?
I have no idea. Let’s hope not. Susan has had enough trauma already.
Are you excited?
Am I excited? Is there a queue at Greggs? Yes, I can’t wait.
